Software Errors or Installation Complications

We want all users of the BTS study package to have a wonderful experience with the software as well.  If you are having problems with the software, please allow us to ask a few questions:

1. What type of computer are you using? Apple or PC 

2. What browser do you use to surf the Internet? Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Crazy Browser, Opera, etc.? 

3. What operating system are you running? Windows '95, '98, 2000, Me, Professional, XP, etc.? 

4. What virus protection or firewall software are you running? 

5. Do any specific error messages appear? 

6. What is the last screen you see before any error appears? 

7. What is your product code?

Reinstall & Uninstall Instructions

  New SOFTWARE and Website Developments.    The BTS website is undergoing a transformation.  We are excited about new developments that we are engineering for all current and future BTS owners to enjoy.  Among these developments, we are creating an on-line version of the BTS Reading Planner ® software which will be better than the current CD-based version.  The Web-based version of the Reading Planner should eliminate all compatibility issues that may be experienced by Mac or Linux users or on unsupported versions of Windows.  All current owners of the software will receive free access to the new on-line software.  We will send out a broadcast email to you and all others who've made contact with us or have registered your software.  To be included, send an email to Grow@BalancingTheSword.com stating, "Please notify me of software developments."  The projected completion date is uncertain.  Because so many new features are being developed simultaneously for seamless integration, the process is difficult to estimate.  Be assured this free development is receiving hundreds of hours and much economic investment.   We want to deploy these enhancements as soon as possible.

Manually Enter Your Registration Number 

If you registered your software, but the software still asks you to register and has "unregistered" in red across the planner's schedules, you can enter your registration number manually.

1:  Close the BTS Reading Planner software.
2: Click on "Start." 
3: Click on "Run." 
4: Type:  regedit
5: Click on "HKEY_CURRENT_USER." (If you do not see this folder, go no further.)
6: Click on "Software." 
7: Click on "VB and VBA Program Settings."
8: Click on "Balancing The Sword - Reading Planner"
9: Click on "Registration"
10: In the right panel, double-click the icon next to "RegID" and change the Registration ID to the 16-digit number we provide.  No hyphens should be included.
11:  Click "OK" to save your change.
12:  Exit the Registry Editor by clicking File and Exit.
13:  Open the BTS Reading Planner and create a reading plan to verify success.  You should no longer see "unregistered" across the reading plan.
