Reading Planner ® Updates The latest version of the BTS Reading Planner was created on 08/31/2006 and is 1.1. This is a Zip file of 15.1 MB and is entitled Reading_Planner_08-31-06.zip. The latest update was created to fix isolated errors experienced by a limited group of users. If you have not experienced errors, upgrading offers a few enhancements but is not critical. To make use of this update, you need to take a few simple steps. Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, explore the contents of the Balancing the Sword CD. Copy the Reading Planner folder onto your hard drive. You can place the folder anywhere on the hard drive or desktop. You may wish to install it under C:\Program Files\. Download the update, and save the Zip file in the Reading Planner folder you just created. Extract the files into the same Reading Planner folder using WinZip by double-clicking on Reading_Planner_08-31-06.zip. (WinZip commonly comes with new computers. You can download the program for free at WinZip if you do not already own it.) Overwrite the existing files. Okay, you are almost done. Simply double-click SETUP.EXE. The rest of the installation is like normal. New SOFTWARE and Website Developments. The BTS website is undergoing a transformation. We are excited about new developments that we are engineering for all current and future BTS owners to enjoy. Among these developments, we are creating an on-line version of the BTS Reading Planner ® software which will be better than the current CD-based version. The Web-based version of the Reading Planner should eliminate all compatibility issues that may be experienced by Mac or Linux users or on unsupported versions of Windows. All current owners of the software will receive free access to the new on-line software. We will send out a broadcast email to you and all others who've made contact with us or have registered your software. To be included, send an email to Grow@BalancingTheSword.com stating, "Please notify me of software developments." The projected completion date is uncertain. Because so many new features are being developed simultaneously for seamless integration, the process is difficult to estimate. Be assured this free development is receiving hundreds of hours and much economic investment. We want to deploy these enhancements as soon as possible. |
