La Clase Divertida- Now The Answer To All Of Your Foreign Language Needs For ALL Grades PK 4 -12th Grade!
Come join Sr. Gamache in a lively workshop to see how your family can comprehensively learn Spanish together in a fun non-intimidating way through conversation, songs, games, crafts, cooking, and cultural stories. See how FUN Spanish can be! The program is designed for families with students aged PK4 through 8th grade. We start out slow and easy in Level I with the basics of pronunciation and conversation as we work systematically into high school level grammatical structure by the time we get to Level III.
Proficiency in Multiple Languages: It’s Not an Option in America Today. Let’s Embrace the Challenge!
Regardless of our views on immigration, and/or the interactions we anticipate in our “shrinking world,” our children will face a very difficult challenge as productive members of society in the 2010s if they are monolingual. Veteran homeschool dad and professor of the Spanish language, Dale Gamache will present what this society will look like and how we can best prepare our families not only to survive, but to be successful in our ever-changing multicultural, multilingual nation. Mr. Gamache will discuss how to prepare our children for an America that will be very different than the one we grew up in, all the while preserving our own distinct American culture. Let’s be prepared to develop relationships with these people from other lands here in the USA, not only in our language but in their own native tongue as well.
Teaching Foreign Language at Home
While most parents are familiar with and feel somewhat confident teaching the 3-Rs to their children, very few feel that same confidence with foreign language instruction. In my workshop, I hope to answer many of the questions I have heard repeatedly during my 29 years of Spanish instruction of children ages 4 to 18 and my 15 years of homeschooling. What is the best age to start teaching a foreign language? What language should I Teach? Should I teach Greek, Latin, or some other language? How can I teach a language that I don’t know myself? What should I look for in a language program? How can I help my children become fluent in a language? Do my children need a foreign language to graduate from high school or to be accepted at a community college or university?
