A Practical Guide to Making Scripture Central in Your Home Education
Education is discipleship. How are you discipling your children? Is it with hours of math and science and 15-minutes of “quiet time” in the Scriptures? For many of us, the reformation doctrine of Sola Scriptura is an easy doctrine to say “Amen” to; however, adherence to this great Christian truth requires far more than verbal assent: If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). The keeping of God’s commands requires a working knowledge of His word. Is this part of your education philosophy? Reformation of the heart and victorious Christian living are the result of humility, diligence, and conformity to the image of Christ through transformation and renewal of our minds. Make this your educational priority!
Reformation and Revival: What 21st Century Homeschoolers can learn from 5th Century Hebrews
In our modern day, many question the worth of serving God with their whole heart, and consequently we offer unto Him what the prophets considered refuse. By our actions, even Christians suggest that submitting themselves to the whole counsel of God is an unprofitable exercise and not worthy of the necessary investment to learn and obey. Do you secretly question the equity of God? Do you fail to offer God your best and first fruits? Are you resolute in the midst of social, economic, and civil declension? The 5th century message of Malachi offers instruction for our modern challenges, along with a prescription for reformation and revival in our homes and for this generation.
Time Management Priorities for Home Educators – Lessons from the Psalmist
What are your goals as a Home Educator? Are they evident in your day to day practices? What are your objectives for this year? What priorities are you communicating to your children? Our time on this earth is limited and our time with our children is precious. We must evaluate the time we apply towards training our children as we do every other resource – it is scarce. What must we undertake to be a successful Home Educator? And, what should we forgo? Where are you failing, and what is your plan for success? Learn fundamental principles which should govern your thinking today, tomorrow, this week, and the rest of your life. Prioritize your home educating efforts well!
Maximizing the Great Commission and Cultural Impact of your Homeschool Family – Lessons from the People of Thessalonica
Do you love the gospel of Jesus Christ? Do you really? Are you known for your love of others? Are you sacrificial and generous? What is your reputation? Each of us is known for pronounced characteristics which define us. Does your life provoke others unto good works? Are others encouraged by what they observe, or are they turned off? What is the true testimony of your life? In a generation of extreme depravity and godlessness, our testimony should be pronounced, in stark contrast to the world, and broadly known. Is this a priority in your educational philosophy? Learn from the reputations of others and incorporate their practices into the culture of your home!

Michael is a dear friend of mine. It only takes a few minutes listening to Michael to know that he is a rigorous thinker and passionate advocate of the full application of Christ's teachings in every part of our lives. His ability to examine complex issues into fine distinctions with biblical definitions is nothing short of dazzling.
