What? Your child is not reading by the time he is three years old? Your pre-schooler is unhappy and a distraction when you are busy teaching your older children? Then this workshop is for you! Come to a guilt-free session at which Lyndsay will give you a strong dose of reality along with some helpful hints about how to help your young children not only survive being a part of a home school family but thrive!

What Every Texas Home Schooler Needs to Know About the Law
Tim Lambert, president of the THSC, explains the law concerning home schooling and tells the history of home education in Texas and the nation. He relates ways home schooling families can avoid problems with school authorities and procedures for being prepared for the truant officer or a social worker at the door. Tim also shares how home schoolers can answer those oft-asked questions such as, "What about socialization?"

Why Home School? A Vision for the Future
Tim talks about many reasons that more and more people believe the burgeoning home education movement has the potential to change our state, nation and, ultimately, the world for the better. Tim tells how home education has effected his family and church and how it is continuing to impact in our culture."

Homeschooling, a Vision for the Family
There is so much talk these days about the successes of home schoolers, especially in the area of academics. Tim Lambert, a dad involved in the home school movement for over twenty years, talks about how home schooling has impacted their family far beyond what was learned from the curriculum.

Fulfilling the Good Citizenship Requirement
Tim explains what our state government means when it requires us to teach good citizenship and talks about how to incorporate the subject into your school. He addresses maintaining priorities and keeping a balance between teaching the academics of government and politics and practicing activism in them at all levels. Tim encourages parents to take a synergistic approach to teaching their children about government in the classroom while participating in the governmental process in practical ways.

Planning for the Future: What Comes After Graduation?
Tim talks about home schoolers going to college - how to plan and prepare. He also tells about apprenticeship, a time-tested approach to vocational preparation. Other options he addresses are trade schools, the military, and home management.

Restoring Parental Rights in Texas: A Hands-on Opportunity for Good Citizenship
Texas home schoolers have a unique opportunity to change a very bad law in Texas that allows fit parents to be sued for visitation or possession of their children by grandparents without good cause. Changing this law is at the top of THSCs agenda for the next legislative session. Tim will explain the law and its problems, THSCs desired changes, and ways parents can take a synergistic approach to teaching their children about government in the classroom while participating in the governmental process in a practical way, thus fulfilling the required subject of Good Citizenship.

Walking By Faith To Help Your Children Find A Godly Spouse
In this day of 50% divorce rate, how involved should parents be in protecting their children? How does one go about finding a godly spouse? Is encouraging your young people to hand out in church singles groups enough? Our culture says dating is fine; some say courtship is the answer; others are committed to betrothal. Tim Lambert gives an honest presentation about the misconceptions and the actualities of different approaches. He explains how the process should be and act of trusting the Lord and adapting to your family while working to protect your children from sin, helping them find Gods best, and honoring Him in the process.

Update on Home Schooling in Texas and Parental Rights (For odd-numbered years, after a legislative session and new bills have passed)
Tim Lambert, President of the Texas Home School Coalition will give an update on the status of home schooling in Texas. He will detail some of the battles waged every day on behalf of Texas families to regarding home school freedom as well as the attacks against Parental Rights at the National State and Local levels and how home school parents can engage in the battle to restore parental rights, the foundation of our right to home school.

So What's the Dad Supposed To Do?
What is a fathers responsibility before the Lord? Arent most home schools the domain of the mother? Tim Lambert, home schooling dad of 16 years, shares with dads about their part in a successful home school experience for their families.

Courtship from a Father's Perspective
Tim explains the basics of courtship. This method of choosing a life-partner is enjoying a resurgence as young people and their families return to a more scriptural and positive approach. He discusses this issue from the perspective of a father whose role differs with sons and daughters.

Dual Citizenship: A Christian and His Government
Tim Lambert, THSC president, discusses the Biblical basis for Christians' involvement in government - and how that involvement is vital to maintaining parents' rights to direct the education and upbringing of their children.

Ready, Set Now What Do I Do? (With Lyndsay Lambert) (It is best to have at least 2 hours for the presentation and some time for questions. It can be done in 1 hour plus question time if necessary. Works well right before a break so people can stay and ask questions if they want.)
Where do I get curriculum? Do I have to make bulletin boards? How do I teach several grades at once? Do I need to have lesson plans and give grades? Do I need a lawyer? What about socialization? Exactly what is the law in Texas concerning home schooling? Tim and Lyndsay Lambert answer these questions and more as they give advice to brand-new home schoolers.

Courtship: One Family's Perspective (The Lambert Family)
Courtship, one method of choosing a life-partner, is enjoying a resurgence as young people and their families search for a more scriptural and positive approach than is currently in practice in our culture. Many homeschooling parents are turning to courtship as a way to continue in their efforts to raise godly children in an ungodly world. Join the Lamberts as they explain their perspective on courtship. Lyndsay contrasts courtship with dating and explains the Lambert's basic philosophy. Tim explains the practical basics of courtship and discusses this issue from the perspective of a father whose role differs with sons and daughters. They will also share the very different experiences their children have had in finding godly spouses. After the session, the Lamberts will open the floor for a question and answer session.

Restoring Parental Rights
Tim Lambert will outline the attack on parental rights in Texas that has been used to drag some families into court when grandparents disagree with family decisions including home schooling. He will discuss the Texas Statute that has been used to allow this to happen and how you can protect yourself and help change the law to restore parental rights in Texas.
