Keeping Our Children's Hearts (with Teri Maxwell)
This topic represents perhaps the greatest challenge every homeschooling parent faces. We want not only to educate our children academically but also to come through the homeschooling years with children who have become mature Christian men and women living their lives for Jesus Christ. Steve and Teri together share what they have gleaned from Scripture and applied in their home, as they have raised three children, now in their twenties, who never rebelled. They are applying the same principles with the younger five. This is a powerful session presenting exciting information that holds the key to successful homeschooling.

The Homeschooling Family: Building a Vision (with Teri Maxwell)
Doubts, discouragement, and burnout can easily shipwreck the family that doesnt know where they are going. What is it that keeps a family homeschooling through a moms feelings of being overwhelmed, a child with a rebellious spirit, or a house full of babies and toddlers? Together, Steve and Teri share in this workshop how they moved from homeschooling for convenience (well try it a year and see how it goes) to homeschooling forever. They will give you concrete examples from homeschooling struggles they have experienced and how they made it through. With three adult children whom they homeschooled and five more children who are currently being homeschooled, they have the experience to know how to keep on while still being in the trenches of day to day homeschooling.

Preparing Sons to Provide for a Single-Income Family
Beginning with age three and working up to college, Steve shares specific ways a parent can start equipping a son with the character and skills needed to eventually be a successful single-wage earner. He helped his son purchase a house debt free a year before his marriage.

Family Devotions: Critical to Discipling Children
Tried them and failed? Never tried because you knew it would be too big of a battle? No time for them even if you wanted to? Do any of these questions describe your experience with family devotions? Join Steve Maxwell, father of eight, as he shares about the Maxwell familys favorite time of their day. Steve will give practical advice for achieving success in family devotions that he guarantees will work.

Sports - Friend or Foe?
Homeschooling families are heavily involved in sports. What are the parents goals in having their children participate in organized sports? Are these goals being met? Are the children better or worse by being one of the team? Steve shares data from a large on-line survey that he conducted regarding Christian families and sports.

What Are You Seeking?
This commencement address will challenge graduates regarding their life goals and priorities. Also, homeschooling parents are recognized for the tremendous investment they have made in the lives of their children. (30 min.)

Family Devotions: Here's How - Guaranteed!
Tried them and failed? No time for them even if you wanted to? Join Steve Maxwell, father of eight, as he shares about his familys favorite time of their day. Steve will give practical advice that he guarantees will work.

Manager of His Home: Practical Suggestions for the Homeschooling Dad
A dad often holds the key as to how successful his wife is in homeschooling and having a schedule. Successfully being the head of a Christian family is a task that requires prayer, time, and effort. When a mom begins bringing problems to her husband, she desires a listening ear, comfort, direction, and help. In this workshop you will be given practical, biblical suggestions for how you can support and facilitate your wife in her role as a homeschooling mom. Often there is no better way to convey your love for your wife.

Anger: Relationship Poison (with Teri Maxwell)
in many homeschooling parents, and it can undermine all the hours invested in positive teaching. It can destroy our most precious relationships. Have you noticed how certain levels of anger are accepted and justified? Is a little anger beneficial? Do you have difficulty controlling your anger? Is a harsh tone in your voice anger? Are you discouraged by the anger in your life and in your home? Steve and Teri Maxwell will encourage you on this universally needed topic as they share from God's Word and personal testimonies.

Managers of Their Chores: How Chores Facilitate the Homeschooling Family (with Teri Maxwell)
What homeschooling mom has time to teach plus do all the housework in the home? Most families would agree that it is important to have their children pitching in to help by doing chores. However, striving for the achievement of that goal is another matter. It often leads to conflict, guilt, and failure. In this session, the Maxwells discuss a biblical basis for chores, the multitude of benefits chores bring, the inherent pitfalls of chore implementation, and how to make chores as stress-free as possible. In addition, you will be introduced to a new concept in a chore system, developed by the Maxwells after many years of failure with other chore plans. From preschoolers to teens, each person can be a contributing member of the family while gaining life-long personal benefits that prepare him for life.

Raising Children to be Courtship-minded
Most parents are keenly aware of the emotional scars left by dating relationships. In this session, learn how to raise children who will choose a better way to find a spouse.

Courtship and Preparation for Marriage
Most homeschooled youth have heard about courtship, but they wonder what it actually is and how it would work out in their lives. In this session, these areas will be addressed plus a discussion of what you can do to be prepared for marriage, preserving purity of heart and body.

Harnessing the Power of a Team
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour” (Ecc. 4:9). So many marriages, yet few are experiencing the power of Christ as they raise their children. There is such unity, strength, and blessedness when two are truly one, working for the same goals for their family. Biblical and practical, this session will strengthen and build your marriage.

Redeeming the Time
Does a dad ever have enough time? Does it seem like there are too many asking for what there is too little of– our time? How does one prioritize our most precious resource and be a good steward of it? Will you spend a small amount of time with us in exchange for greater
productivity? Be encouraged that there is hope with these proven concepts from the Word of God.
