Designed specifically for you, the high school student, and your parents. You will be encouraged to take more responsibility for your education by being an active partner with your parents, developing a creative core curriculum, and establishing your course as a team. Veteran home educator Barb Mesh will cover the topics highlighted above and answer questions throughout the session. During 15 years of home schooling, Barb used an eclectic approach to teaching and learning, relying mainly on unit studies, co-ops, project learning, community service and apprenticing, with very little use of formal textbooks. She continues to be active in the 4-H program having led a small club for 14 years. Her runner graphic son Aaron is a graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. He is presently working as a public relations coordinator for Regional Obstetric Consultants and a free lance journalist in Chattanooga, TN. Katie, her daughter, is a Philosophy major in her junior year at New College in Sarasota, Florida.
How To Create a Home School Transcript ~Your Way ~
Does the task of summarizing all your teen's accomplishments over four years and placing them on one transcript sound distressing? Take heart! This workshop will help give shape and form to your non traditional classes and experiences as well as how to place traditional courses on a transcript.Basic instruction is provided for giving titles and labels to classes and establishing credit. Barb's assistance results in a document written in the traditional language understood by "the system". Calculating a GPA, required tests and issuing diploma will also be covered.
