The Struggling Reader
Does your son or daughter seem to be struggling in their efforts to read? Based on current research, Dr. Eckenwiler & his wife have designed materials that empower parents to better understand the reading process, as well as their child’s specific areas of need. Parents will not only better understand the reading process, but will be equipped to test their own child in those areas most critical to reading success. Armed with information about your child’s unique strengths & weaknesses, curriculum materials are offered that target areas of need.
Reading: Am I Emphasizing the Right Things?
Does your son or daughter seem to be faltering in their efforts to learn to read? Is it the curriculum? Is it you? Based on current research, Kristen and her husband have designed this workshop to help parents better understand the most essential elements of the reading process, along with those critical ingredients that must be emphasized to produce a successful, capable reader.
Does My Child Have a Learning Disability?
When a homeschooled child seems to flounder for no easily identified reason, parents often exhaust themselves in their search for answers. At some point a parent may wonder if there might be a learning disability at the root of their child’s struggle. Kristen and her husband have designed this workshop to help parents sort out the difference between routine struggles and those that could well be a learning disability.
Equipping Yourself for the Struggling Learner Journey
Whether you have an official diagnosis, or simply suspect that something is just not clicking the way it should, your journey with a struggling learner is unique. Beyond the search for an effective curriculum, there is much more to learn in order to be the most effective parent/teacher for your beloved child. Join us for a helpful and encouraging discussion of the challenges you face with a struggling learner.
