Young scientists will be able to experience and examine some of the vile and wonderfully disgusting elements of life. In this hands-on lab, students will dissect and peer into a sheep's eye, touch real lungs and examine the affects of cigarette smoking, examine life size models of the inner organs, the highlights are endless. See the fascinating innards of God's creation.
Yuck 101 (For parents)
Calling all Parents. come discover your inner-child. Did you sleep through biology in high school? No problem. Come explore and experience the joy of dissection. Get your hands dirty and cast all your fears away. Be encouraged that you can teach your eager learner at home the fun of hands-on science. (Repeat of the student's hands-on lab for parents only.)
Fun With Science
Unit Studies are a fun and interactive way to learn. Unit studies provide an in-depth study on a topic while exploring many areas of the topic, such as geography, science, history, art, etc. It is an immersion experience that your student will see things as a "whole" instead of bits and pieces. Participants will learn the components of designing their own unit studies in the home and obtain a unit study ready to use.
The Beat Goes On
Participants in this interactive workshop will learn about the heart cycle, listen to heart sounds, understand their significance, examine prepared blood slides under the microscope and with great anticipation dive into the chambers of the heart through a hands-on classroom dissection of the heart.
Let's Pick Your Brain
This interactive engaging hands-on workshop will pick your brain and transport you into the fascinating and complex world of brain anatomy and physiology. Examine how the eyes and the brain cooperate, peer into high-power microscopes and see actual slides of human brain specimens, dissect an actual sheep brain and much more! Dr. Callentine brings the brain to life drawing you into the world of neuroscience as only a doctor can. Four workshops are scheduled with 40 seats per session. STAT! Doctor on Call
Any age participate can learn in this simulation what it takes to be a doctor. Walk through a history of a patient and be the detective sleuth to solve the ills of your patient.
Developmental Milestones
Ever wish your children came with an instruction manual? The job of parenting has never been more difficult. Every parent worries whether their child is growing and developing normally. Dr. Callentine puts your fears at ease. As a pediatrician, Dr. Callentine partners with parents in their role as nurturers of the emotional, behavioral, intellectual, and physical growth of their children. She will discuss the typical developmental milestones and how to take advantage of the teachable moments that emerge. Parents' concerns about development and behavior will be addressed.

International law has washed up on our shores via the vessel the UN Convention Rights of the Child. Dr. Lainna Callentine will describe threats to parental rights and propose a solution that will be the battle of the century for homeschoolers and other pro-family advocates. The right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children should be a fundamental right guaranteed by the United States Constitution but it is only an implied right. It is a looming threat on the fundamental structure and the integrity of the family.
