The Value of Astronomy
Why should your children learn about astronomy? If it is taught well enough, astronomy can first of all give children an understanding of their physical place in the Universe; show them that as inhabitants of it they are unique and significant; give to them a vision of its orderliness and majesty; demonstrate how science as a human institution operates; and draw them into a hobby where amateurs are helping professional scientists make discoveries.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Jay Manifold and other workshop leaders and speakers.
