Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University
|
Matthew Bullington is a homeschool graduate, and the oldest of six children. He attended Middle Tennessee State University where he was paid to go to college (receiving scholarships in excess of his total costs). In 2006 Matthew was awarded the "President's Award" by the university, the highest honor given to a student at the college. Matthew graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors Distinction in December of 2006 with a degree in Economics.
Matthew's knowledge of the college application process comes from personal experience, as well as the experiences of two of his siblings who are both fully funded in their studies at the University of Memphis and Vanderbilt University. His father, Dr. Kimball Bullington, is a professor and has been advising incoming students for over 12 years. While attending school, Matthew advised numerous incoming students on the application process, gave tours and talks to visiting students and incoming freshman, and was singularly requested by the university on multiple occasions to be the host and tour-guide for prospective homeschool students.
Matthew has been working since 2007 to help students, especially homeschoolers, prepare for college or trade school. He volunteers as a discipling mentor and speech coach. Matthew is the owner of HomeschoolCollegePrep.com and UniversityReady.com, has written and produced a variety of resources to help in the college preparation process, is the high-school columnist for the Home-Educated Family magazine, and has spoken at numerous workshops and events across the nation.
