Presentation Titles & Descriptions

Fossils: Evidence from the Past
(Group presentation)
When Noah and his family left the ark, they stepped into a newly-shaped world, very different from the pre-flood world they left behind. We help you to visualize what it was like in the years after the flood and in the following ice age, especially in Florida. This presentation includes a display of real Florida fossils, and is a great workshop for families to attend together.

Life in the Water: Marine Biology
(Suggested ages 10 and up)
Did you know that it is the male seahorse that becomes pregnant and gives birth? Or did you know that without mangroves in the Indian River Lagoon much sea life would die? In this workshop we study the importance of mangroves to the Indian River Lagoon and conclude with a trip to the Indian River where students collect specimens that are temporarily placed in aquariums. Typical specimens we find include shrimp, seahorses and a variety of fish and crustaceans. Specimens are studied before releasing them back into the estuary.

A Bugs Life: Entomology
(Suggested ages 8 and up)
Did you know that a dragonfly's eye has as many as 30,000 lenses, and because of their eye's positions, it has a 360-degree field of view? What some see as a simple life forms are not so simple after all. We will study the importance of insects in God's world. Students will learn about this and more as we study insects by collecting them on a local field trip, view them through the microscope, and learn how to mount specimens for student's own insect collection.

Rocketry
(Suggested ages 12 and up)
Sir Isaac Newton's three laws of motion are studied as students construct their own rocket from a plastic two-liter soda bottle and power it by air pressure. Student's interests in math, physics, engineering, and the aerospace industry are stimulated while building, launching, and tracking their rockets.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Paul Schulze and other workshop leaders and speakers. Furthermore, my desire is to help homeschool workshop leaders and speakers develop relationships with more convention planners and audiences. May your efforts be for the glory of Christ and the strengthening of His saints.
