True education addresses not only the mental, by physical, social, spiritual and emotional aspects of the child. And a true education is tailored to who God created each child to be. Respecting our Children’s Hearts as We Educate (45 min-60 min)
God has created each of our children in His image. Yet, there are seasons and even children who challenge our ability as parents to teach with loving kindness and patience. In this workshop we will explore how to encourage our children in difficult seasons, how to grow as parents with our difficult children and how to turn the struggles into something beautiful – closer relationships.
Homeschooling in Times of Crisis: or Less than Ideal Circumstances (45 min-60 min)
Families who homeschool eventually all face times of crisis, whether major illness, financial hardships, death, marriage difficulties, mental illness, etc. During these trying times, we usually question if we should continue to homeschool. Denise Eide, a homeschool mother of 4, has walked through a dark and trying season. She will share the grace filled perspectives she has gained, including how trials can be turned into greater life lessons and opportunities to grow in relationship. Homeschooling is about educating whole children, ready to thrive in the real world. Come and be encouraged how God turns trials for good and hopefully leave some of the guilt behind.

This workshop presents language learning games and ideas on teaching phonograms to young students, as well as the latest literacy research on early childhood and reading. Each participant is provided a handout with ideas they can use with their children at home.
