Someone Changed the Rules: Surviving and Homeschooling with Special Needs Children
You think you have it all figured out, you’re ready to jump into this homeschooling adventure, and then you find out scmething’s... different. You realize you have a special needs child. Or perhaps you’ve known about this precious little someone since before preschool age. Whether that child is quirky with autism or a regular hospital visitor due to a debilitating illness, special needs change the homeschool playing field tremendously. How do you homeschool these kids and retain your sanity? What do you do when they just don’t get it (because those days come...and go)? And what about the future? We’ll address these issues and more, along with questions as time permits.

Getting into College—the Core 40 is No Longer Enough!
For years, Indiana was a Core-40 state. If the students coming out of high schools had a course listing that met the Core-40 guidelines and decent SAT or ACT scores, they were practically guaranteed a place in college. That’s no longer true. As of Spring 2011, colleges like Indiana University are turning away good students with good SAT scores from local high schools who completed the Indiana Core-40 course requirements. What changed? If you or your student has hopes of attending a state university and you don’t know that the guidelines changed, then you need to attend this workshop.
