This session is geared as an orientation for the first-time attendee. Your first homeschool convention can be very overwhelming. CHAP Board members will share some good advice with you, before you enter the exhibit hall.
The PA Homeschool Law: How to Make it Work for You (with Darlene Catlett)
The details about affidavits, logs, standardized testing, portfolios and evaluations can seem very daunting. Until the day arrives when we're free of all unnecessary paperwork and legal accountability, we need to find ways we can manage these tasks with the least amount of time, energy and stress, while maintaining a positive attitude and a good witness. If you worry over these requirements, this workshop is the place to find some ideas. Bring your questions!
Awards & State of the State (with Megg Kanoff)
Don Catlett, Chairman of CHAP, will discuss the challenges on the horizon for homeschoolers. These are challenging times; how will they impact us? CHAP is pleased to take time in this session to highlight some homeschool children from around Pennsylvania. CHAP will present awards for their 2012 Art and Essay Contests. The 2012 CHAP Scholarship winners will also be acknowledged during this session.
