One of the questions people ask to challenge the creation account from the Bible is, "How can there be so many races if we all started from just two people?" I have been asked to give a lecture at USF that reconciles science and the Bible with regard to the topic of race. From Darwin to just plain old racism, there are many cultural lies that affect thinking about the Bible. And one of those areas of the Bible that gets attacked the most, is the creation story. I will be covering topics from the integrity of the Adam and Eve story, to racism and evolution, all with an emphasis on what this means to us as human beings--from harm we have suffered unnecesarily to hope for the future. There will be a question and answer session, and I expect there to be some conflict by people who 1) say the Bible is a fairytale, and 2) cling to views of race that are not backed up by science or the Bible.
