Why Does Your Child Struggle With School?
Your child has had an eye exam, and his/her eyesight is 20/20. Vision couldn’t possibly be hindering his/her ability to learn, or could it? Vision is a complex process involving over twenty different abilities. Nearly 80% of what an individual perceives, comprehends, and remembers depends on the efficiency of their visual system. Students struggling with school often have an undiagnosed learning-related vision problem, that is interfering with their ability to process and learn new information. Some common symptoms are letter and number reversals, sloppy handwriting, difficulty reading, frequent headaches, and short attention span. Learning-related vision problems are frequently associated with ADD, LD, and Dyslexia. The goal of this workshop is to educate parents on the relationship between vision and learning, and how learning-related vision problems can be treated.
