Awakening the Mind, Part 1
This workshop will help families gain a greater understanding of their child who has experienced frustration and/or failure in academics. As a parent of a learning disabled child, Jean Hansen offers hope and encouragement. As a professionally certified education therapist for the learning disabled and a veteran home educator, Jean will instruct you how to build resilience within your child and guide you how to determine whether outside support/resources are necessary in order for your student to become an independent learner.

Awakening the Mind, Part 2
In this workshop, Jean continues to give encouragement in homeschooling your special and struggling students. Come and hear a mother’s heart, a veteran homeschooler’s perspective and a professional’s practical advice!

Awakening the Mind, Condensed
This workshop is a condensed version of Jean’s two Thursday workshops. You will gain a greater understanding of your child who has experienced frustration and/or failure in academics. As a parent of a learning disabled child and as a professional, Jean will offer both encouragement and instruction in how to build resilience within your child. You will learn how the mind can be awakened to think creatively, critically and reflectively.

Jean is a wife and mother of three adult children, a grandmother of two and a veteran home educator of 20 years. She is a professionally certified education therapist for the learning disabled; she is also a parent of a learning disabled child. Her years of experience in both the homeschooling and professional arenas give her a wealth of knowledge and understanding into the world of homeschooling a special or struggling student.
