Family Revolution: A Practical Battle Plan
Revolution! What does that word make you think of? Battle? Brave people fighting for freedom? Courageous men and women charting a different course for their family? All of the above! What does “revolution” have to do with homeschooling, you may be asking? Everything! In this very practical workshop, Micah and Johanna Gelatt will share several insights gleaned from America’s ancestors – insights that will encourage your family in every aspect. They will show step-by-step how to put together a practical battle plan for your busy homeschool family. A plan that will strengthen your marriage, improve your parenting, produce attainable goals for your family, reduce household stress, and put new wind in your homeschooling sails. Do you desire these things? Then attending this workshop is a must!

Mission Possible! Having a Thriving Marriage  (with Johanna Gelatt)
Marriage takes work. We all know that. But add to that workload the stress of homeschooling your children, and now that “hill” of work looks more like a mountain, right? How do you spend the necessary time to teach your children and attend to all of the other duties of life, yet still have time left for your marriage? In this highly practical workshop, Micah and Johanna Gelatt will share lots of tools, tips, and tidbits on how it is possible to not only grow a healthy, vibrant marriage, but to also have a thriving, joyful homeschool experience. Their downhome insight combined with Biblical wisdom will encourage your marriage, and assist you in designing a set of blueprints for your family to build on. They would love to show you how having a strong marriage while homeschooling with excellence is not only possible…it is also very enjoyable!

The Homeschool Hobby Farm

Want to start a garden? Or raise chickens? If you want to raise some food for your family, and need help to get started, then this workshop is for you! Micah and Johanna Gelatt have raised gardens and animals in the suburbs, the country and the inner city. Over the last 6 years, their homestead journey has allowed them to raise small and large gardens and almost every farm animal known to man. In this highly practical workshop, they will not only share their homestead journey, jam packed with hilarious and wild animal adventures, but will also share truckloads of tips, tools, resources, and homespun wisdom. Many of their favorite tools and resources will be available to look at. Their desire is to show you how simple it is to get started, and how your children can learn the values of hard work, responsibility, teamwork, and the joy of harvest as your family works together. You can grow a garden or raise animals, and the Gelatts will teach you how.

Gelatt's Bio

Micah and Johanna Gelatt have 7 children and are the founders and directors of Open Door Refugee Ministries, a Christian outreach located in Kansas City, KS, born out of a passion to assist refugee families in rebuilding their lives and homes in America. They have homeschooled their children from the beginning, and they love to teach others about the things they are most passionate about: strong marriages, strong families, Biblical manhood and womanhood, modern homesteading, and successful homeschooling. In addition to raising their children, they also grow a huge garden and have raised almost every farm animal known to man. They often share these hilarious and wild adventures when they speak at conferences, retreats, workshops and churches. They live in Kansas City, KS and are slowly transforming their urban lot into a city farm, which they affectionately call The Little Farm in the Big City. They would love the opportunity to speak at your homeschool conference or church retreat on the areas of marriage, parenting and family.
