Making History Live
Learn a practical approach to engaging students in the most important subject of History. We all need to develop an understanding that history is HIS Story. Dr. Barkey emphasizes that for history to live, students must see it as providential, practical, personal, and participatory. Students are encouraged to look for God’s Hand in history and in their lives, family history, and their place in His Kingdom. Practical suggestions and illustrations are given for lesson projects, field trips, living history opportunities, etc. Dr. Barkey’s Student Study Guides for American History and World History will be used as a guide for “Making History Live.”

Dr. Barkey is a retired Army Chaplain, combat veteran, Jumpmaster, and Master Parachutist having served with Army Airborne, Ranger, and Special Forces units. Following retirement he has served as Hospice Chaplain and is currently pastor of Ashland Community Church, Manhattan, KS. He has taught American History, World History, Church History, and Biblical Economics to home schoolers for the last ten years. Dr. Barkey has published five inspirational and devotional books on American History, World History, Christian History, and Prayer.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Paul Barkey and other workshop leaders and speakers.
