Syllables for Reading and Spelling Improvement
The English language has rules and patterns for 80% or more of our words. However, many of us cannot remember these rules (or were never taught these rules) to help our own children with their reading and spelling. Lorrie makes sense of our language by giving you insight into the six syllable types and the related syllable division rules, spelling rules, and also some guidance on the other 20% that do not follow the rules. This presentation is based on the Orton-Gillingham Approach, a multisensory program that has proven effective for many students over 75 years, even those with dyslexia and other learning differences.
