The Importance of Art in the Homeschool
This workshop will explain why art is so vitally important in the development of our child's education. It is a tool that promotes
creativity in solving life problems and growth intellectually. By working their way through art projects that seem overwhelming and difficult, the students learn the importance of making wise decisions and creating strategies. They learn how to focus and finish a task. Later in life they will have the confidence to complete other projects much larger in scope that aren't even art-related because of the lessons learned through creating art projects. If art is taught from God's perspective, the students will come to see art as an act of worship to the greatest Creator of all. No matter if your child is artistic or not, you will understand why art is such a vital tool in their personal development.
Releasing Your Child From the Grips of Entertainment
Today's children love to be entertained by the media. Being entertained by television, Facebook, and electronic games affects their lives more than you might guess. Many families have traded skillfully-expressed creativity for passive intake. The traits passivity teaches can affect a child for the rest of their lives. This session focuses on training a child's mind and abilities! What would happen if you introduced your children to many different styles of creative media and let them experiment with them? Come and hear what Sharon has learned about inspiring creativity and self-motivation in young people.
