When Does it Take a Village? (with Jean Wetherilt)
When you have a child who needs help outside the sphere of your homeschool, how do you find answers to your questions of where, when, and how to get it? Information will be provided about how to choose a support group, how to find professionals who can help you to meet your child’s needs, and ways to access resources beyond the internet. Other topics to be discussed include accessing the church community and service projects.

Kim Bowlin and her husband, Andy, have been homeschooling for 15 years. Their oldest son graduated in 2006 and their twin 16-year old sons are currently in 9th grade. Their sons have all faced learning challenges, including autism, auditory and visual processing deficits, ADD, severe learning delays, and health issues. They have been on the Families for Home Education board since 2006 where they currently serve as Executive Assistant Directors. Kim is the statewide contact for parents home educating children with special needs. She is also the coordinator of Homeschooling Kids Who Can, a support group for parents of children with special needs.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Kim Bowlin and other workshop leaders and speakers. Furthermore, my desire is to help homeschool workshop leaders and speakers develop relationships with more convention planners and audiences. May your efforts be for the glory of Christ and the strengthening of His saints. Disclaimer:
