Isham's Bio

Bruce Isham was native to Ohio but grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the age of seventeen he began his adventures, traveling around America and living for short periods of time in several different parts of the country. For more about his adventures, check out his book, "Grit, Glory and the Open Road." He spent two years in the U.S. Army, then came back to live in California.

One of Bruce's interests has always been exploring and photographing western ghost towns. While working as a night custodian at an elementary school, he began a second job with the local arts council putting on art programs with "Ghost Towns of the Old West" as his theme. A little later, he developed the presentation on "Johnny Appleseed." Soon he ended his job with the school district and launched into a full time career as an author and storyteller. He is now beginning his thirteenth year as a "Historic Storyteller." In addition to his school visits, he also performs at retirement and assisted living communities, as well as at churches and small groups.

Bruce has been married to his wife Cindy for thirty-five years and currently lives in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California. He has written four books and has developed several different storytelling programs with audiences that range from kindergarten students to senior citizens.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Bruce Isham and other workshop leaders and speakers. Furthermore, my desire is to help homeschool workshop leaders and speakers develop relationships with more convention planners and audiences. May your efforts be for the glory of Christ and the strengthening of His saints.
