Look Mom! No Hands!
Sometimes we need helping hands when it comes to homeschooling. Everyone needs help now and then. Support groups can be a lifeblood in times of discouragement, hardships, and day-to-day drama. Without them, homeschooling can seem daunting and overwhelming. This workshop will speak to how to start a vibrant support group, what can be accomplished through a support group, and ways to connect using the digital medium of today.
What in the World is Dual Credit?
Times are changing and opportunities are opening for homeschoolers to acquire dual credit more effectively now than ever before. High school students can get college credit for work they are already doing right now. Killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, gives students the ability to move forward, ahead of their peers and be ready for life while the pack is still struggling to go through four years of college. There is a way to get going early and the advantages can be lifelong for homeschooling young adults.

Kandy Gedies is a wife and homeschooling mom to two young adults ages 17 and 14. For almost five years, she has been helping lead the Lane County Christian Homeschoolers support group in her area. She loves teens and leads a homeschooling youth group. Her passion for helping young adults become leaders for Christ, has taken her to various youth retreats, youth events and TeenPact Leadership School in Salem. She is a collegiate consultant for CollegePrep and is now watching her son brave college waters. Kandy has been married almost 23 years to her husband and best friend, Ralph. Her faith is grounded in Christ and Romans 8:28 is her life verse.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Kandy Gedies and other workshop leaders and speakers. Furthermore, my desire is to help homeschool workshop leaders and speakers develop relationships with more convention planners and audiences.
