School Away From Home
Whether you call them outside classes, tutorials, or co-ops, there’s a good chance your home schooler will be taught by someone other than mom or dad. Come learn how to make the most of these experiences! This workshop will focus on choosing classes and teachers, the role of the parent and student, and skills your child needs to succeed in a class environment.

Renee Mathis has homeschooled for 24 years. She attended both University of Arizona and University of Houston and has a love for literature and learning. She works with the CIRCE Institute as a classical writing instructor and author. Writing in all its forms is a passion and she hopes to see her students experience the joy of authorship. This will be her 14th year to teach at PREP. Now that her five children have all graduated and are in various stages of work, college, and family life, Renee is enjoying the fruits of that labor: grandchildren! She and her husband Steve have served the local homeschooling community in WHHE and are on the parent board for HCYA Volleyball. Renee and her family are members of Christ Church (PCA) in Katy.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Renee Mathis and other workshop leaders and speakers. Furthermore, my desire is to help homeschool workshop leaders and speakers develop relationships with more convention planners and audiences. May your efforts be for the glory of Christ and the strengthening of His saints. Disclaimer:
