Seeking Biblical Beauty (with Mirren Martin)
Biblical beauty is becoming less understood and less sought after in today’s Christian culture.  It is not necessarily that Christian young ladies do not desire to have Biblical beauty, but rather many have subliminally embraced a counterfeit beauty, failing to recognize it worldliness. As a result their effectiveness as ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ is weakened. Seeking after Biblical beauty will not only enhance a young lady’s life as she displays the “fragrance of Christ” to others, but will also make her more pleasing to the Lord and therefore more able to be used for God’s glory. This session will give specific examples of counterfeit beauty while presenting and contrasting it with Biblical passages defining God’s ideas of beauty.

Taryn and Mirren Martin are the daughters of Dr. Jobe and Jenna Dee Martin and work full time in their family’s ministry, Biblical Discipleship Ministries. They were home schooled through high school. In college they studied elementary and history education and both hold Ph.D.’s in history. Together with their parents they are involved in writing and research, events coordination, the BDM book table, and product development. As the Lord gives opportunity, they also enjoy a side ministry within BDM to young ladies. Their desire for young ladies is that they understand the importance, blessing, and fulfillment found in a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Their talks include presenting Biblical truths to encourage young ladies in living victorious Christian lives and to equip them to confront cultural issues in a godly manner so that they can better live out a Biblical worldview for God’s glory.
