Brennan's Bio

Joan M. Brennan, the parent of four sons and the founder/CEO of Brennan Innovators, LLC, has been a middle-school educator in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for more than 15 years.  A graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis (B.A. + Missouri teaching certification for K-12), Mrs. Brennan has also completed post-graduate courses in curriculum design, student learning styles, teaching strategies & methods, and gifted education.  Since 2006, she has been an instructor at the St. Louis Community College-Meramec in the College for Kids Program. 

 

Mrs. Brennan is also the inventor and of the Reading Focus Card (Patent 7,565,759), a low-tech tool for struggling readers, and the high-tech, digital application of the tool (Patent 8,360,779) currently in development.  Her sensory-appealing and customizable reading tools are made in St. Louis and used by children and adults throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, Asia and the Eurozone. 

 

She is a member of GAM (Gifted Assn. of Missouri), SAGE (St. Louis Assn. of Gifted Education, the International Reading Assn.-St. Louis Suburban Council, and Illinois Innovators and Inventors (i3), a networking and support group for inventors in the Missouri/Illinois area (President 2006-‘08).

 

Brennan Innovators provides unique reading tools and solutions for parents and teachers of challenged readers and others throughout the world.  In addition, the company also provides professional educational development services to schools, parent groups and other organizations in the Midwest.
