WORKSHOPS FOR HOMESCHOOLING

Simply Joyful Homeschooling: How to Start Off Your Homeschool  Journey Simply

Deciding to homeschool can be a big step of faith.  Whether you are starting with preschoolers or pulling kids out after several years in public school, your first few years of homeschooling can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many different curriculums to chose from, teaching and learning styles to discover, your own family rhythm to adjust to, and requirements to figure out. It’s all a lot to wrap your brain around. Not to mention there’s often added pressure from family, friends, and even neighbors to see if you can pull it off (or if you are going to ruin your child). This workshop will not only offer you a quick introduction to homeschooling basics, but will give you simple, easy tips on how to get started — and stay the course. We’ll cover some great tools to take unnecessary pressure off yourself and focus on what is truly important (hint: it’s not academics)! So take a deep breath, buckle up, and prepare yourself for the grand adventure called homeschooling.

Homeschool Organization: How to Organize Your Homeschool Curriculum & Space

When I first started homeschooling, my brain was spinning with information overload of all the things I thought I needed to get done before we started. I searched endlessly for ways to organize, not only my school room, but our work. I wanted simple straight forward answers, but couldn’t seem to find that “perfect fit” for my family. This workshop outlines some tried and true techniques to take back your homeschool day. By creating a little bit of routine and order, you can get more done in your day -- and better yet, finish school early. Whether you are a veteran looking for some fresh ideas or totally new to homeschooling, this workshop will give you tips and tricks to set up your homeschool for a successful, more streamlined day.

How to Homeschool Your “Bigs” with “Littles” in the House

How do you homeschool your “bigs” when you have “littles?” This is probably one of the hardest obstacles to homeschooling! The constant juggling act that has to be performed when there is more than one child in the house can tire out even the most experienced homeschool mom. How do you handle a history lesson with one child, math problems with another, phonics with your pre-reader, tantrums from your toddler, & nurse your baby--all at the same time. Crazy! From ideas like rotating play times for one-on-one time to creating school boxes and stackable bins, this workshop will offer you handy tools and tips on how to better manage the circus act of homeschooling multiple children. Homeschooling is not for the faint hearted, but the blessings that come will fill your heart with more joy than you could imagine.

Help! I Homeschool & My House is a Mess

Some days it feels like we have to make a decision: Will we get everything done with our homeschool work today or will we actually get our house clean? There doesn’t always seem to be a middle ground. It feels like it’s one or the other. Balancing homeschooling and homemaking is very hard work. Overwhelming work. It may have been easier to keep your house clean before you started homeschooling, but there is hope. In this workshop, Kristi shares a few simple tips and techniques that have helped her make her day a bit more efficient—and actually be able to get both homeschooling and housework done (most days).

Sanity Savers for a Homeschool Mom

Attaining sanity in the midst of motherhood sometimes seems like an impossible task. Motherhood by definition is often a bit chaotic—throw in homeschooling—and you have the making of a perfect storm. Life can be stressful and messy. Some days can bring you to the brink of insanity. Based on the tips outlined in her new book, Kristi walks you through her “7 Simple Solutions for a More Joy-filled Life.” This workshop is a must for any homeschool mom who has ever felt a bit overwhelmed. It will leave you encouraged that you are not alone in this journey of motherhood.

Social Media & Your Homeschool: How to Use Social Media to Enhance Your Homeschool (Not Destroy It)!

Welcome to the 21st century! Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Periscope—there are just so many new social media platforms popping up every year. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by them all. I know our family completely steered clear of them for years. However, now I’ve learned how to embrace a few of them and strategically use them to bless my homeschooling. Social media doesn’t have to be a scary thing. There are definite safety measures every family should take when involved with anything online. By being intentional, social media can be a “tool” to enhance your homeschool.

Getting Started! The Nitty-Gritty of Setting Up Your Homeschool in California

Starting to homeschool can be overwhelming. Whether you are on the fence about homeschooling, just starting off, or need to get a refresher about the basics, this workshop will take you step-by-step through the process of getting off to a good start homeschooling. Kristi will provide a basic explanation of the “homeschool-ese” you are struggling to understand, practical “how-to’s” for getting your school established, and a brief overview of all you need to know to start your adventure in homeschooling.

WORKSHOPS FOR FAMILIES

Sanity Savers for Moms

Attaining sanity in the midst of motherhood sometimes seems like an impossible task. Motherhood by definition is often a bit chaotic. Life can be stressful and messy. Some days can bring you to the brink of insanity. Based on the tips outlined in her new book, Kristi walks you through her “7 Simple Solutions for a More Joy-filled Life.” This workshop is a must for any mom who has ever felt a bit overwhelmed. It will leave you encouraged that you are not alone in this journey of motherhood.

M.O.M. = Master Organizer of Mayhem!

This fast paced workshop goes through Kristi’s popular “Top Ten” list on how to bring more order and organization to your home and heart. These days we are faced with so many wonderful choices and activities, but choosing what is best for us and our families is often hard to discern. This workshop goes through lots of very practical and applicable tools on how to get rid of the mayhem in your home -- without getting rid of the kids (or your sanity). This workshop is a must. Moms of all ages and stages have loved this workshop and used its tips to bring grace and peace to their home.

Family Unity Through Traditions & Fun!

Fun isn’t always spontaneous, sometimes it needs to be planned. As homeschool families, our kids spend a lot of time with each other. This both creates deeper relationships and can also ignite some, shall we say, conflict. Intentionally planning opportunities for fun creates family bonds that help to allay tension and create lasting memories. Traditions don’t have to be lavish and worthy of Pinterest. Sometimes it just takes a little food coloring to brighten a day. Whether you are looking to add more unity among your family members or a few new traditions to your holidays, this workshop will not disappoint.
