Box Free Living
Rather than raising children to follow formulas, let us teach them using the principles of discipleship, and then have them "follow me as I follow Christ." And, rather than trying to force your home schooling to look like someone else's, let's learn to hear from the Lord just what is best for your own family. Instead of falling victim to preconceived judgments, from ourselves or from others, let's learn to find God's way for us in this home schooling journey.

The Indispensable Ingredient
The most important element in your curriculum is you. Diana has been there, knows what you are experiencing, and has talked with many others in your position. She will express your heart's cry that your children would grow in character and knowledge, and encourage you that you can get it done. Through Diana's transparent examples and practical suggestions, this workshop will help you understand the pivotal role you play as a mentor, a model, and a facilitator in your child's education.

Beyond Survival
When we discover that the "key to success" in home schooling is found in relationship, we go beyond survival mode and into abundance. Through an insightful and humorous word picture based on the scripture, "Unless the Lord builds the house...", the audience gets a look at the tools and materials used to build an educational "house." Diana also offers a very transparent and inviting description of her family's entry into home schooling, complete with reactions from grandparents, garage sale desks, and the first three false starts.

Got Teens?
What a challenge! What a blessing! What a reward! But what do we, as parents, do to see the blessing and to harvest the reward? This practical, hands-on workshop looks at vision, opportunities and counsel in your teenager's life through such issues as: what we can do, through school subjects and training, to prepare our unfolding young adults; how do we home school when the subjects get harder; why we should study worldviews with them? . . . and much more.

Things I Wish I'd Known
Moms only please! Having homeschooled three children who are now all in their twenties, Diana has an almost limitless list of things she wishes she'd known about homeschooling and parenting! Come and learn from her mistakes, which are told in the unique style of transparent humor Diana is known for. Prepare to laugh (and, perhaps, cry) and to emerge refreshed.

History Via the Scenic Route
Are you tired of force feeding history to your children? Does history make them yawn? Or, do you have one of those hungry-for-history type students that would devour far more than you could ever dream up to provide? Diana Waring will take you on an extraordinary learning adventure as she shares with you how to make the facts come alive and the learning go deeper! Join Diana for her "sit-on-the-edge-of-your-chair-in-suspense" history approach, using literature, music, art, science, cooking, and more, that has captivated homeschoolers across five nations.

Actively ENGAGE Learning & Actually ENJOY Learning!
One of the biggest questions people ask is, "How do I get my kids to finish their school work?" The deeper question is actually, "How do I get my kids to be self-motivated?" We will examine the answers to these critical questions, and look at specific ways to encourage and assist our children in developing ownership of their education. Yagottahavagottawanna is the attitude we want our children to catch, but we must learn the proper approach which will allow them to catch it! That means we must learn the critical difference between controlling and directing; between pushing and releasing; between coercing and facilitating. It is the essence of a master teacher who says, "I can not teach you how to do it, but I can help you learn to do it." This is an interactive and practical workshop that you can put to use immediately!

Exposing the Wizard of Oz: Who is Really Behind the Scenes in History?
The essential crash course for every homeschool parent. Discover insights from Diana's research behind the events of history. Share her wisdom for teaching history. Do you wonder, "Whom do I trust and what do I read to know real history?" Diana will equip YOU, regardless of your curriculum, to find your way through the challenges. She will lead you to a path you can follow in discovering treasures of history with your family.

Not Just Your Average Genius: Learning Styles
In this fast-paced, easy-to-understand workshop, you will distinguish three different grids that impact the unique way each one in your family learns: learning modalities (visual, auditory, kinesthetic); learning styles (Feeler, Thinker, Sensor, Intuitor); learning intelligences (interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic, spatial, math-logical, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, naturalist). Discover how to honor (not curse!) that wiggler in your midst; how to create a rich atmosphere for learning that will attract every learner; how to utilize your children's strengths to learn subjects that are hard for them; most importantly, learn that God delights in the incredibly individualized mechanisms for learning inside each of us! With this insight, including new research on intelligences, you will be able to adapt your teaching strategies AND choose your curriculum wisely!

The Well-Kept Secret of a Biblical Education
The Bible is our plumb line, our standard of knowing truth. Most Christians intrinsically understand that it is radically different than what our culture tells us, but how much have the prevailing culture and our own school experiences influenced our views on education, even in homeschooling? This powerful message, from an international speaker and twenty-plus-year veteran of homeschooling, will provide you with a foundational and scriptural framework for truly grasping and understanding education--the content and the means--from a Biblical perspective.

Unlocking the Mysteries of the Middle Ages
Join Diana for one of her specialties: a whirlwind tour through one thousand years of colorful characters, world-changing events and God's faithfulness! Beginning with the fall of Rome and continuing all the way up to Gutenberg's printing press, you will finally understand what is important and whom to follow in this mysterious millennium. Seat belt use suggested--you're going to move fast!

How God Made You Smart! (A Workshop for Teens)
In this fast-paced, easy-to-understand workshop, you will distinguish the unique way each one of us learns - learning styles, modalities, and intelligences. Discover how to honor (not curse!) the strengths and the seeming weaknesses in your ability to learn things, how to utilize your strengths to learn subjects that are hard, and most importantly, learn that God delights in the incredibly individualized mechanisms for learning inside you! With this insight, including new research on the eight intelligences, you will be able to adapt your learning strategies to academics, career and life!

A Teacher's Guide to Teaching History
The essential crash course for every homeschool parent. Discover insights from Diana's decades of hard-earned wisdom in teaching history that will equip YOU, regardless of your curriculum, to help your children discover history's buried treasures.

Ancient Civilizations & the Bible
Ancient civilizations come ALIVE! when you view their relationships to Gods people, plan, and purpose, as revealed in the Old and New Testaments. Diana read dozens of volumes on world history, boiled them down to a meaningful overview, and prepared this instructive, rapid-fire version for all audiences whether you love history or not!

Whatever Happened to Church History?
Designed to give an exciting overview of key events in Church history, this workshop will also assist parents and teens in understanding their Christian heritage. Events covered range from the Acts of the Apostles through the Middle Ages, the Reformation, the Great Awakening, and up to the Modern Missions Movement, including exciting statistics concerning what God is doing throughout the world today!

Learning: A Breath-Taking View
Does that ring true in your heart? Is learning a breath-taking adventure in your home school, or more of a weary, forced-march, plodding through endless subjects? Diana will lift your eyes to the joys of what God intended for us in learning. Take a new look at practical, proven, and possible ways to make your home school journey a wondrous adventure. Come for refreshing, reviving, and reinvigorating!

Christian Heroes in History
An interactive storytelling session with a passionate storyteller, we will discover the lives and lessons of several Christians from history (the number depends on the time available). Including George Mller, Amy Carmichael, Eric Liddel, Gladys Aylward, Hudson Taylor.

Home Cooking
Whether we like it or not, whether we want to or not, as homeschooling moms, cooking is. . .well, frankly, it's on our plate! Come to this fun and crazy workshop where we share how to enjoy the experience while keeping one's sanity, along with some favorite recipes from around the world -- all from internationally known homeschool speaker, Diana Waring. Additional homeschooling moms may be added to this workshop for their spice and variety!

A Life-Changing Quest: The Adventure of History
Which one are you? For many, the study of history is a pain—boring, dry, a meaningless collection of names, dates, and places to be regurgitated for a test and a grade. For others, the study of history is fascinating—swashbuckling heroes and cinematic drama to be indulged through novels and documentaries. But the real deal is far greater than most of us have ever imagined. History will change your future. . . but you have to get past the mediocrity and tedium. Come put your feet on a quest—learn history Diana’s way. It will change your life.

We must learn the critical difference between controlling and directing; between pushing and releasing; between coercing and facilitating.

Heroes of the Faith
This workshop combines Diana's love for homeschoolers with her joy in historical figures as she aims her famous storytelling skills toward four revered Christian heroes. Their lives and their faith have inspired generations of Christ-followers in ministry, but Diana applies their special callings to the issues of parenting and education. What can homeschool families learn from these ordinary people whom God used in extraordinary ways? The heroes of the faith include George Muller, Amy Carmichael, Eric Liddel ~ famous from the movie Chariots of Fire ~ and Gladys Aylward.
