LD or Late Bloomer?
Is your child really “learning disabled” or does he simply have a different developmental schedule and learning style? Carolyn is a former public school teacher, veteran homeschool mom and ISP principal whose two daughters would have been identified as “LD” and severely “LD” had they been in school. The elder, who learned to read at age 8, is a graduate of Christian Heritage College and is currently a pilot and flight instructor. The younger, also a graduate of Christian Heritage College, did not read until she was almost 11 years old. Carolyn has researched so called learning disabilities and has some surprising insights to share based on 25 years experience both in the classroom and with homeschoolers.

Your child can excel and it won’t cost you the farm. Learn inexpensive and easy ways to help your “learning different” child. If your children are struggling, you need this workshop.

Geography is Everything!
Many years ago, when my children wanted to compete in the National Geographic Geography Bee, we discovered that studying geography meant studying everything.  We also discovered how much fun it is to learn reading, math, history, economics, world cultures and religions, geology, astronomy, ecology, politics, biology, weather, oceanography, cartography and current events all wound up together.  We learned how everything is connected and it changed our homeschooling world from then on.  Learn how you can expand your horizons in fun and easy ways that reach all learning styles and all ages with stunning results.  Examples of materials, sample unit studies and creative teaching ideas will be shown and explained.

Learning Styles (with Martin Forte)
Explore the various learning styles and how it really effects your child’s ability to master subject matter. We will explore the five essential aspects of learning styles including dispositions, talents, modalities, interests and environment. Based on the teachings of the Success Institute of Ventura and the book How To Determine Your Child’s Learning Style by Mariaemma Willis and Victoria Kindle Hodson. If you are experiencing challenges in reaching your child academically this is the seminar for you. Through proper knowledge of learning styles you will have a more successful teaching experience and save hundreds of dollars on wrong curriculums.

Dr. Homeschool (with Martin Forte)
A new favorite among homeschool parents attending conferences. Listen in as Dr. Homeschool and his nurse discuss various “homeschool ailments.” Some examples of our cases include: Mrs. Athome, Mrs. Testall, Mrs. Ontask, Mrs. Nofyre and Mrs. Oldenfirm. Laugh and learn as we discuss the symptoms of: inflammation of the in-laws, edema of the curriculum and many other common symptoms. For every case we provide the symptoms, identification of the illness and of course the prescription to cure the problem. The audience is guaranteed a good time while learning and laughing. Audience participation encouraged.

My hope is that this list will assist conference organizers in connecting with Carolyn Forte and other workshop leaders and speakers. Furthermore, my desire is to help homeschool workshop leaders and speakers develop relationships with more convention planners and audiences.
