Hands-on Science – The Best Way to Go!
Myrna has designed a fun-filled workshop with hands-on ideas that are easy to implement. In this workshop you will learn about the balance point of objects, creating a pendulum clock, tracking toys floating in the ocean, and more. Hand outs will be given to participants showing how to do the activities at home.

Calling all Rock Hounds
If you have a group of students that would like to learn about rocks and minerals contact us. Students will learn how to tell different types of rocks by their crystals and other characteristics. Rocks commonly found around the world are featured in this workshop. Students can then collect their own rocks and identify them using techniques covered in this workshop. Rock identification workshops usually last 2 hours. The first hour students learn about different types of rocks and their formation. The second hour students collect and identify rocks they have found.

Volcano Workshop
If your group of students are interested in volcanoes you might think about scheduling this workshop. Myrna introduces students to the four major types of volcanoes. They get to look at examples of various rocks produced by different types of eruptions followed by several hands-on experiments related to volcanoes. After this introduction students can continue their studies in the Volcano books appropriate for their ages.

This fun workshop includes a variety of activities that helps students to understand how and why earthquakes occur. They will learn about plate movement around the world that creates earthquakes.  Activities included in this workshop include making fault blocks and creating miniature tsunamis.
